Margaret Blumer, 66, Ottumwa OTTUMWA — Margaret Ann Blumer, 66, of 101 S. Ransom St. passed away Saturday, June 23, 2007 at Ottumwa Regional Health Center. She was born in Ottumwa May 10, 1941 to Anthony and Dorothy Hughes Celania. On May 17, 1959, she married Larry D. Blumer. A 1959 graduate of Ottumwa High School, she was a member of Ottumwa Baptist Temple. During her children’s years at Stuart Elementary School, she served as secretary, Vice President and President of the PTA. She helped her husband manage Golden Arrow Mobile Home Court from 1981 to 1994. She worked at Celania Hardware, Everco Industries for 16 years and the past four years as a cashier at Wal-Mart. She is survived by her husband, Larry; a son, Larry Blumer and his wife Glenda of Ottumwa; a daughter, Karen Jacobs and her husband Jim of Ottumwa; four grandchildren, Jessica and Jacob Blumer and Nick and Desi Jacobs; two sisters, Madelyne (Hurley) Hall of Oxford Jct. and Rose Crow of Cedar Rapids; five brothers Tony (Shirley) of Cypress, Texas; Victor (Misako) of Virginia Beach, Va.; Bob, Mike (Diana) and Richard (Michelle) all of Ottumwa; a brother-in-law, Jon Potter of Wentzville, Mo., and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Kimberly in 1962; a sister, Louise Potter and a brother-in-law, Dan Crow. Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Ottumwa Baptist Temple with Rev. Randy Miller officiating. Burial will be in Shaul Cemetery. Visitation will begin 11 a.m. Monday at Robertson-Jay Funeral Home with family present from 6-8 p.m. Active pallbearers will be grandsons Jacob Blumer and Nick Jacobs, and nephews Bryan Blumer, Mark Wilcox, Joe Schulz and Cary Crow. Honorary pallbearers are granddaughters Jessica Blumer and Desi Jacobs. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Wapello County or Mcreery Cancer Center.
